Beginner Short Course
Sydney's School of Fine Woodwork Short Course has been developed by Adam Crosland. This course gives more people a chance to experience a relaxing and theraputic woodwork class for a couple of hours a week, over six lessons. Each woodwork student produces a "Hot Pot Stand" from rough sawn timber, a "Dovetail Joint" and a "Mitre Box" measuring 200mm x 300mm.

The student uses a range of hand tools, power tools and the sanding machine. It is a very popular class and some students have gone on to make a Dovetail Box out of Jarrah, in the Intermediate Course. Other students are already thinking of new personal projects they want to make in Richard’s classes during the week.
After the first lesson, if they choose to continue, students make an upfront $300 payment, covering 6 x 2 hour classes. Classes can be missed and made up later so there is no pressure to commit to 6 consecutive Sunday mornings.
Intermediate Short Course
This enables students to continue with their woodworking at their own pace. Again, its $300 upfront, and the student can come on any Sunday they like to complete a Dovetail Box in Jarrah. Every Sunday after the 6 weeks is up, its $50 per lesson until the project is to your satisfaction.
Once you have completed the short course you can move on and make anything you like with Richard Crosland, subject to availability. Please call Richard if you are interested in jumping in the deep end with your own project, otherwise we recommend the short course to get a feel for it before you move on to the personal project making, whatever that may be. However, there may be a waiting period between the short course and classes with Richard Crosland, depending on a vacancy becoming available that suits you.
Its good fun, challenging, and it’s up to you to think of any ideas you would like to tackle after the short course. Please confirm your short course booking by sending Adam a message via email, or call and leave a message with Richard. Classes are usually 4-6 people at a time.
The Industrial Estate is on the curve of Gardeners Road and Kent Rd, next door to Beaurepairs on the same side as Bunnings. If on foot, it is a short walk from Mascot Train Station. There is free parking on the Industrial Estate, just walk or drive straight to the end of the complex, and the workshop is on your right, when you go through the double gate.
